Never the Easy Way

My dad used to say, "you never do anything the easy way." The more I think about it, the more I realize there's some truth in that comment.

Don't get me wrong- it's not as though I wake up one day and try to imagine the most roundabout way to accomplish a task (and then execute), I just happen to think that I take the road less traveled. And as I'm on that road, I realize why it was less traveled.

For instance,
going to school full time while working two jobs, carrying a five month old fetus, and trying to balance time with a rambunctious 19 month old sucks. (for lack of a better, more accurate description)

But at the end of the day, I see that B.B.A. in Marketing only six more months away; I see my son growing into such an amazing child; I feel my baby kick and it makes my day; my boyfriend vacuums the living room when he knows I'm getting home late (I know, I'm also living in sin- I thought I already mentioned I never do anything the traditional way); and I suddenly realize that sometimes the journey does not matter.

I'm getting there despite the odds.
So keep trudging all you non traditional mothers, all you unorthodox students, all you multi-job warriors; you'll get there too.

Also, when my dad teased me about never doing anything the easy way- I don't think he realized that he'd be babysitting occasionally.

  1. Tradition is overrated. Your an amazing person that is extremely driven. You know what u want and you go for it. Having a family means starting your own traditions when the regular ones don't fit your lifestyle. I wish all the best for you and your family. Making it in this world is not easy. You making it work is very encouraging to to those who don't think they can, and us a great example for your boys. Keep it up! your amazing
